I’m planning to fly to New Orleans, and I’m looking for accessible transportation to and from the airport. I use a power wheelchair. Do you have any suggestions?
Alert Transportation (alerttransportation.com) can provide private transfers in a lift-equipped van to and from the airport. The also serve the cruise ship terminal. Their van can accommodate one wheelchair-user and three other passengers. And if you like to give Lady Luck a try, they also offer private transfers to and from the Mississippi casinos.
Accessible shared ride transfers are also available from Airport Shuttle (www.airportshuttleneworleans.com). They have a lift-equipped van and they serve the downtown, uptown and French Quarter hotels, as well as the cruise ship terminal.
Advance reservations are required for both companies, so plan ahead so you won’t be left out in the cold.
