I’m planning to visit Cape Cod next year, and I’m looking for some accessible beaches between Hyannis and Provincetown. I use a manual wheelchair, and I can transfer if necessary.
Well, you are in luck because there a number of accessible beaches in that area.
In Hyannis, Veterans Park & Beach and Kalmus Beach have accessible restrooms, shower facilities and beach wheelchairs.
Up the road in Eastham, Coast Guard Beach has beach wheelchairs.
And if you’d like to stay in your own wheelchair, Herring Cove Beach, Race Point Beach and Ryder Street West Beach all have accessible beach mats, so you can roll down to the high tide line.
Additionally, if you’d like some information about accessible hotels, restaurants and attractions in the area, visit www.capecodchamber.org/accessible.
I know you’ll have a great time.
