February and March are filled with artistic exhibititons and events in the silver mining boomtown of Tombstone, Arizona.
Opening on January 29, 2011 the Tombstone Association of the Arts Quilt Show runs through February 24. The show will be held at the Tombstone Art Gallery, which is located at 317 Allen Street, next to the Old Town Visitors Center. Everyone is invited to drop by and view the needlework in this free exhibition, and then vote on their favorite quilts.
Free quilting classes will also be offered during the run of the exhibition, from 9:30 A.M. to noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. No experience is necessary, so come in and learn a new hobby.
During the month of March, the Tombstone Art Gallery will host a month long art show. Also sponsored by the Tombstone Association for the Arts, this annual event will showcase local talent and feature a variety of mediums. There's no charge for the exhibition, so stop in and see what's happening in the Tombstone art scene.
The Tombstone Art Gallery is open daily, from 9:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. For more information about either of these events call (520) 457-2380. And for general tourist information about Tombstone, visit www.tombstonechamber.com.
