Born in a small Bosie restaurant nearly 30 years ago, the Idaho Shakespeare Festival kicked off its 2006 season on June 2 with a presentation of William Shakespeare’s Love’s Labor’s Lost at the Festival Amphitheater on the Banks of the Boise River.
The 2006 season will run through September 30 and will include Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as well as Major Barbara by George Bernard Shaw, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum by Stephen Sondheim and The Spitfire Grill by James Valcq, Fred Alley and Lee David Zlotoff.
Located on 12 1/2 acres in East Boise, just East of Harris Ranch, the Festival Amphitheater features plenty of accessible parking, level access to several accessible boxes, companion seating and accessible restrooms. Box seats include folding chairs (which can be removed if not needed) and a table.
Patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy during the show. Additionally there is a cafe located behind the theater, where you can purchase picnic items and beverages. All areas of the cafe and adjacent deck are accessible.
