This month Dolly Parton celebrates Christmas Dixie-style, with a special holiday offering at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede in Branson, Missouri.
Set in a 35,000 square foot arena, this high energy show features everything from trick riding and musical numbers to ostrich racing and a healthy dose of audience participation. Add in a few camels, elves and a nativity scene and you have a festive holiday production. And don’t forget the hearty three-course dinner that’s served during the performance; a meal that’s eaten with “the utensils God gave you.”
Access is excellent throughout the theater, which can accommodate up to 45 wheelchair-users. Just take the elevator to the top level and wheel right into you seat. If you'd prefer to transfer, your wheelchair can be stored for you. Outside, there is barrier-free access around the stables, where you can catch a glimpse of the horses before and after the show.
The special holiday show is presented in November and December. The theater then closes in January and February and resumes its regular program when it reopens in March. For more information about Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, visit www.dixiestampede.com.
Located just 35 miles southwest of Springfield in the heart of the Ozarks, Branson features a wide variety of family attractions and entertainment. For more information about Branson tourism options, visit the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce website at www.explorebranson.com.
Wheelchair-access is good in Branson, with many attractions going above and beyond the minimum regulations; however some of the older areas of town may have spotty access.
