AmeriSuites is coming to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, with the opening of the AmeriSuites Historical Stockyards Hotel early this spring.
The five-story 102-room all suite hotel will be located in the heart of the historic district, adjacent to Stockyards Station and the Visitors Information Center on East Exchange Avenue. This hotel will add a new dimension to Fort Worth by fulfilling a need for hotel accommodations within the Fort Worth Stockyards for families and visitors to the area.
Known as America’s affordable all-suite hotels, AmerSuites properties are also an economical and comfortable choice for people who travel with an attendant or caregiver. The AmeriSuites Historical Stockyards Hotel is also a particularly good choice for wheelchair-users and slow walkers who want to explore the historic area at their own pace, without having to worry about finding accessible ground transportation.
Visitors can get free maps and information next door at the Visitors Information Center or join a low cost walking tour or the area. There is ramped access to the Visitors Information Center and the volunteer guides are very knowledgeable. Although the tour is fast paced, most of it (except for the catwalk over the pens) is wheelchair-accessible. Tour stops include Stockyards Station, the Cowtown Coliseum, the Livestock Exchange Building and Billy Bobs Texas.
And don’t miss the Forth Worth Herd, the twice daily cattle drive up Exchange Avenue. It’s great fun and a good chance to get a close look at some real Texas longhorns.
