The Gardenland Express returns to the Missouri Botanical Garden for a six week run on Novemeber 22, 2006. This model train and flower holiday display features G-scale locomotives chugging past miniature scenes, live plants and favorite St. Louis landmarks.
The exhibit includes a vintage streetcar which circles an eight-foot replica of St. Louis Union Station; and model cars, mini-buildings and tiny townspeople that help bring the cityscape to life. It’s topped off with colorful poinsettias, cyclamens, dwarf conifers and Christmas trees flocked with snow. This holiday show is particularly festive at night when tiny lights twinkle on the trains, buildings and trees.
Access is excellent throughout the Missouri Botanical Garden, with level access to the visitor center, elevator access to the garden level, level pathways throughout the garden and a wheelchair-accessible tram. Additionally there is an wheelchair tour pamphlet available at the front desk, that details an accessible walking tour through the garden.
