Although Wonders of Wildlife officially opened it's doors in November 2001, this hybrid mix of an aquarium, zoo and interactive museum promises to draw visitors from around the world, during this, its premier summer season. Located right next door to Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Springfield, Missouri; Wonders of Wildlife features live animals, fish, hunting and fishing displays, videos and interactive computer simulated exhibits. In short, it's a celebration of the great outdoors.

According to Wonders of Wildlife Public Relations Coordinator, Vicki Hicks, "Wonders of Wildlife is not simply an aquarium; nor is it a museum -- it's the best of both." The 91,000 square-foot facility was designed to mirror the interconnectedness of the outside world, with exhibits and habitats flowing seamlessly into one another. This unique attraction offers visitors a peak at many of North Americas' natural habitats; from the deep woods and freshwater streams, to the Ozark hills and underground caves.

Visitors can use spotting scopes to discover various species of waterfowl in the Walk in the Woods exhibit, come face to face with a shark in the Underwater Perspectives Gallery or test their fishing skills at the interactive Go Fish exhibit. The focus is on conservation and education throughout the museum, and great attention was paid to even the finest details in the habitats and the interactive exhibits.

Access is first-rate at Wonders of Wildlife, with level access to the first floor and elevator access to the second level. Wheelchairs are available for free loan at the entrance, and there is barrier-free access to all of the exhibits. It's a great place to explore the great outdoors and learn a little bit about conservation in the process.

Wonders of Wildlife is located in Springfield, Missouri, just off historic Route 66. Visit www.wondersofwildlife.org or call (417) 890-9453 for more information about this unique Missouri attraction.
